To Russia with Love – Welsh Brewer exports to Russia
Following a momentous year of success, Peter Hain, Secretary of State for Wales and MP for Neath, is to visit Hurns Brewery on Friday December 8, to celebrate its success supplying Welsh beer to Russia.
This is believed to be the first time Welsh beer has been exported to Russia, and follows on the recent export success of Cwrw Haf (Summer Ale) across 13 American states, with further expansion planned.
Peter Hain, the 2006 Welsh Politician of the Year showed a particularly keen interest in the business due to the fact that the award winning beer is being transported both east and west, to America and Russia, in the first such venture for a Welsh Company, moreover a Welsh Company which had received valuable assistance from the then WDA when it acquired the Tomos Watkin Brewery in 2002.
A spokesman from Hurns said ' We are thrilled and delighted that Mr Hain has taken time out from his busy schedule to allow us to show him, first hand, our passion for Wales and its Ales.'
The brewery tour, which will take place at the Swansea base of the company will include some further sampling of the brand and should start the festive season off well for this assiduous MP, who , this time next year, could well be the Deputy Leader of the country .

Tomos Watkins can build upon this sales growth and in doing so will continue to raise the flag of Wales around the world
